Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Scope

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Project Quality Management System on site, ensuring that all construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with contract requirements, approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. The role supports the QA/QC Manager in delivering high quality, compliant, and defect free data center facilities suitable for mission critical operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Quality Management & Implementation

• Assist the QA/QC Manager in implementing the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and quality procedures across all disciplines.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and authority requirements.
• Support internal and external quality audits and ensure timely close out of audit findings.

Inspection & Site Activities

• Conduct routine and scheduled site inspections to verify compliance of civil, architectural, MEP, and specialist works.
• Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure quality requirements are understood and implemented.
• Witness inspections, tests, and approvals with the Engineer / Client representatives as required.

Data Center Specific QA/QC Responsibilities

• Verify quality compliance for data center specific works including data halls, equipment plinths, trenches, raised floors, external yards, and critical infrastructure areas.
• Ensure installation tolerances, finishes, and workmanship meet mission critical operational requirements.
• Support quality control during testing, commissioning, and handover of data center facilities.

Material & Documentation Control

• Review material submittals, test certificates, and delivery inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Coordinate with independent laboratories for material testing (concrete, rebar, blocks, etc.) and review test reports.
• Maintain accurate QA/QC records including inspection requests (IRs), test reports, and quality logs.

Non Conformance & Corrective Actions

• Identify quality issues and raise Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
• Coordinate with construction teams and subcontractors to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Track NCR closure and report status to the QA/QC Manager.

Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Witness testing, commissioning, and performance verification activities.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of as built drawings, test records, and handover documentation.
• Support smooth project close out and final handover to the Client / Facilities Management team.

Training & Awareness

• Participate in quality toolbox talks, method statement briefings, and quality awareness sessions for site staff and subcontractors.
• Promote a quality driven culture on site in coordination with the QA/QC Manager.
