Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of quality control for fresh produce operations, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality assurance protocols and inspection procedures for incoming and outgoing fresh produce.
- Lead, train, and mentor quality control teams to ensure consistent application of best practices and company policies.
- Monitor and analyze quality data, identifying trends and areas for improvement to minimize waste and maximize product quality.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to resolve quality issues and optimize supply chain processes.
- Conduct regular audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Investigate and address customer complaints or non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality control activities, inspections, and compliance reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements relevant to fresh produce quality management.
- Coordinate with external auditors, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
Desired Candidate Profile
5-7 years of progressive experience in quality control or Packhouse Management within the fresh produce or agro-food industry.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing quality management systems for perishable goods.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and relevant ISO standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and training quality control teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work on-site and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic operational environments.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and data analysis tools.
- Track record of successfully handling audits and regulatory inspections.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
