Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for monitoring and managing project costs to ensure that expenditure is kept within the approved budget. Prepare the receivable invoices as per the contracts. Review / approval the payables as per the POs, agreements & contracts. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing cost reports, and providing recommendations to improve cost efficiency. The coordinator works closely with project teams to ensure financial objectives are met and supports the overall financial health of the organization.
Budget Management
- Develop and maintain project budgets.
- Monitor and track project expenditures against the budget.
- Identify and report any variances between actual and budgeted costs.
Cost Analysis
- Collect and analyze financial data related to project costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction measures inline with department objectives
- Prepare detailed logs, cost reports and forecasts.
- Assist Project controls
Reporting
- Prepare and present financial & cost reports for the department.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial & cost records.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial statements.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Background
- Diploma in Engineering
- Any degree
- Professional certification (e.g., RICS) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Analytical Skills
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and identify trends.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare accurate and timely financial reports.
Communication Skill
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
