First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), the UAE s largest and one of the world s safest financial institutions, is seeking an experienced Relationship Manager Contracting Clients to manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients in the contracting sector. Based in Dubai, this role focuses on strengthening client relationships, enhancing portfolio profitability, ensuring credit quality, and maintaining compliance with FAB s governance and risk frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess deep industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to client management in the UAE and GCC contracting markets.

Key Responsibilities

Client and Market Analysis

  • Conduct detailed financial, market, and credit analyses of contracting clients and related industries to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Evaluate clients business models, financial performance, and market position to determine funding needs and potential cross-sell opportunities.
  • Prepare accurate and timely credit appraisals, financial models, and facility documentation for approval.

Client Relationship Management

  • Manage a portfolio of medium-to-large contracting clients (turnover exceeding AED 350 million), ensuring superior service and proactive engagement.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients by understanding their business goals and aligning FAB s products and services accordingly.
  • Lead discussions with clients to introduce FAB s comprehensive product suite, including Trade Finance, Cash Management, Treasury, and Global Corporate Finance solutions.
  • Support clients day-to-day banking needs and ensure their documentation, facilities, and security requirements are in order.
  • Follow up on facility renewals, documentation, and KYC updates to maintain compliance and ensure operational continuity.
  • Actively source new-to-bank (NTB) clients in the contracting sector to grow FAB s market share and portfolio income.
  • Represent FAB in client meetings, industry events, and market forums to strengthen brand visibility.

Portfolio Management and Risk Control

  • Monitor portfolio performance, client exposures, and industry trends to identify early warning signals and manage potential risks.
  • Ensure all facility documentation and security requirements meet FAB s internal and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain updated KYC and AML documentation for all clients in accordance with the UAE Central Bank and FAB compliance policies.
  • Work with internal teams (Credit Administration, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Operations) to ensure smooth execution of client requests.
  • Contribute to the bank s risk management framework by ensuring strict adherence to lending and compliance procedures.

Operational Excellence and Reporting

  • Prepare and update client call reports, business pipelines, and Group Account Plans regularly.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to streamline processes and reduce turnaround time for client transactions.
  • Prepare call briefs for senior management when meeting key clients and provide market insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in compiling industry intelligence reports, such as weekly contracting market updates and business pipeline reviews.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of MIS reports and performance dashboards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise closely with key product partners such as Global Markets, GTB Trade, GTB Cash Management, and Global Corporate Finance to maximize revenue potential.
  • Act as backup for the assigned Director during absences and support key client relationships.
  • Encourage collaboration between relationship teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.

Desired Candidate Profile

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline (Master s degree preferred).
  • 8 10 years of experience managing contracting or large corporate clients within the UAE or GCC banking sector.
  • Proven track record in portfolio management, financial analysis, and credit structuring for high-value clients.
  • In-depth understanding of the contracting industry, including market dynamics, risks, and financial structures.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate lending, trade finance, and treasury products.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling, risk assessment, and portfolio analytics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and core banking systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
