Role & responsibilities

A Relay Testing Engineer configures, tests, commissions, and maintains SIPROTEC 4/5 protection relays Key Responsibilities

1. Relay Configuration & Parameterization:

- Configure SIPROTEC 5 relays using DIGSI5 including hardware setup, function settings, CFC logic, and IEC 61850

2. Relay Testing & Commissioning:

- Conduct protection testing using DIGSI5 test tools and integrated test sequencer.

- Test OC/EF, Distance, Differential, Power Swing, SOTF functions.

3. IEC 61850 & Communication:

- Configure GOOSE, MMS, SCL communication files (ICD, CID, SCD) and validate SCADA interfaces.

4. Fault Analysis:

- Extract and analyze fault records, trip logs, and waveforms using SIGRA.

5. Documentation:

- Prepare configuration files, setting sheets, test sheets, and commissioning reports.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills:

- Expert in DIGSI5 engineering tool.

- Knowledge of SIPROTEC 4/5 relay families.

- Familiarity with OMICRON/Megger test sets.

- Understanding of protection principles (OC, EF, Distance, Differential).

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.

- Clear documentation and reporting.

- Team communication and coordination.

Educational Requirements:

- Bachelors degree in electrical/Power Engineering.
