Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee all rigging operations on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations to prevent workplace accidents.
- Conduct daily inspections of rigging equipment, identifying any maintenance needs or safety hazards to maintain optimal operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with project managers and engineers to devise rigging plans that meet specific project requirements and timelines.
- Train and mentor rigging crew members, ensuring they are skilled in the latest rigging techniques and safety protocols.
- Prepare accurate lifting plans and ensure all rigging gear is appropriately certified for use, minimizing risk during operations.
- Implement effective communication strategies among crew members and other departments to promote collaboration and efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of rigging activities, inspections, and maintenance to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Evaluate and select appropriate rigging equipment for each job, ensuring that it meets the demands of the specific task.
- Assist in the budgeting and procurement of rigging materials, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Act as a point of contact for safety audits and inspections, demonstrating a thorough understanding of safety practices and regulations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in engineering or related field is preferred for advanced knowledge.
- Certification in rigging and lifting operations from a recognized institution, showcasing commitment to safety and proficiency.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in rigging operations within construction, maritime, or industrial sectors.
- Experience in leading and managing teams, demonstrating strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Strong technical skills in rigging systems, including knowledge of load calculations, hoisting techniques, and equipment specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy loads and working at heights.
