Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Parsons is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Specialist to oversee the design development, integration, and testing of rolling stock systems for a major rail infrastructure program here in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metro cars' sub-systems, design review, and integration testing, ensuring seamless coordination with other major rail systems.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design Development Oversight: Oversee the design development of metro car sub-systems, including car body, traction motors, brakes, doors, HVAC, passenger information systems, and other critical components.
Design Review: Perform detailed reviews of the manufacturer's design submissions to ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project requirements specific to metro cars.
System Integration: Ensure the integration of metro cars with other major sub-systems, such as Automatic Train Control (ATC), Power Supply, Platform Screen Doors (PSD), Trackwork, and Communication Systems, through Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
Testing and Commissioning: Oversee integration testing and commissioning of metro cars at the site, ensuring system functionality, performance, and safety.
Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to metro rail safety standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the design, development, and testing phases.
Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure metro car reliability and operational efficiency.
Reporting: Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Promote innovation, safety culture, and operational excellence across all metro car functions.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Rail Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 15 years of experience in rolling stock engineering, design, or integration, with a focus on metro cars and their sub-systems (e.g., car body, traction motors, brakes, doors, HVAC, etc.).
PMC/Consultant experience in addition to the Rolling Stock Manufacturer's experience is preferred.
Proven experience in design review and integration of metro cars with other major rail sub-systems (e.g., ATC, Power, PSD, Trackwork, Communication Systems).
Strong knowledge of metro car lifecycle management, reliability engineering, and system integration.
Familiarity with metro rail safety standards, technical specifications, and regulatory compliance.
International experience on large infrastructure projects is preferred.
