Roles & Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and maintaining custom catalogs and specifications for various disciplines (piping components, equipment, instruments, supports, etc.) to meet specific project requirements and as per COMPANY standards.
  • Supporting the development of reference data, managing its version control, and ensuring Data consistency, quality.
  • Maintaining the integrity and quality of S3D engineering data and deliverables, including performing data quality checks and generating reports on model data maturity.
  • Implement tag, naming, conventions in line with project standards.
  • Setup project structures, including PlantAreaUnit (PAU) hierarchy as per project requirement.
  • Assign and manage user roles, permissions, and access rights.
  • Run utilities and tools to check, maintain, and optimize databases.
  • Customizing drawing, report, and isometric templates, as well as developing view styles, graphic rules, and labels (using SQL or VB/C# .Net).
  • Providing user-level troubleshooting support and conducting user orientation sessions, job instructions, and guidelines related to S3D software and catalog usage.
  • Merging project databases into COMPANY environment and resolving data conflicts.
  • Assisting with data exports, imports, and merges across S3D projects, and coordinating with the S3D Administrator on database maintenance and backups.
  • Coordinating closely with engineering discipline leads to ensure catalog data aligns with engineering requirements and to resolve modeling or database issues.
  • Supporting the integration of S3D with other SmartPlant suite tools (P&ID, Instrumentation, Electrical) and third-party software.

Expected:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, etc.) is typically required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8+ years of experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or a related industry, with significant hands-on experience in S3D administration and catalog development. Experience of working in ADNOC projects is preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Expertise in Hexagon Smart 3D administration, project setup, and configuration.
    • Proficiency in creating custom catalogs from bulk load sheets and managing reference data.
    • Familiarity with database systems such as Oracle or MS SQL.
    • Knowledge of programming/scripting languages like VB or C#.Net for labels and customization is often required.
    • Experience with other CAD/design software like MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Navisworks is beneficial.

Desired Candidate Profile

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be full time office based at our Engineering Center in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
