Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Design and implement learning situations based on scientific inquiry, in accordance with science curricula
To develop critical thinking, analytical skills and scientific rigor in students
To guide students in carrying out experiments, scientific projects and research work
To offer personalized support in order to foster academic success and the development of each student's potential.
Collaborating closely with teachers from other disciplines to foster interdisciplinary connections
Supporting students in preparing for internal assessments, including practical work, projects and internal assessment components (AI where applicable)
Raising students' awareness of contemporary ethical, environmental, and scientific issues
To create a positive, inclusive and safe classroom environment that respects diversity
Maintain regular and constructive communication with parents
To propose and develop innovative educational projects in science
Promoting and defending the educational values of LFBI ICE
To actively participate in the educational life of the institution and in collaborative work
To prepare and deliver courses in accordance with official curricula, respecting the recommendations of the KHDA
Good knowledge of pedagogical and didactic developments in science
Ability to effectively integrate digital tools and educational technologies
Excellent interpersonal skills with students, parents, and teaching staff.
Strong commitment to continuous professional development
Adaptability and flexibility in the face of the diversity of student profiles
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, in a bilingual context
Mastery of assessment principles, including written assessment
Regular monitoring of student progress and practice of positive and differentiated assessment
Rigorous updating of educational monitoring tools (class register, digital gradebook)
Preparing students for exams, aiming for high academic results
Participation in pedagogical and coordination meetings
Contributing to the creation of educational materials and the sharing of best practices
Implementation of institutional policies and adherence to safety standards, particularly in the laboratory
Team spirit, proactivity, creativity and a willingness to collaborate within a committed educational community
Availability for meetings, training sessions, workshops and professional development activities
Voluntary teaching across multiple school levels and close collaboration with management and coordination teams
Desired Candidate Profile
University degree, Master's degree or recognized postdoctoral diploma for teaching Science (Life and Earth Sciences, Physics and Chemistry) at secondary level, according to the French curriculum, or Anglo-Saxon equivalent.
Proven expertise in the discipline(s) taught, with a mastery of the scientific and experimental approach.
Pedagogical flexibility and the ability to center learning on the student
Excellent oral and written communication skills in French; a good command of English is highly desirable given the bilingual nature of the institution.
Ability to maintain high academic standards for oneself and for students
Ability to make science teaching rigorous, engaging, concrete and stimulating
Willingness to teach multiple school levels
Significant experience in teaching Science (Life and Earth Sciences, Physics and Chemistry) at secondary level
Experience in a French school abroad is an asset
A good knowledge of the French national education curriculum is appreciated.
