Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Lead the identification and assessment of students with special educational needs using observations, teacher input, and formal assessments
  • Create, review, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with staff, parents, and external specialists
  • Provide guidance, training, and resources to teachers to enhance inclusive classroom practices
  • Deliver CPD sessions to build staff capacity in supporting SEND students effectively
  • Collaborate with external agencies including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and psychologists
  • Ensure compliance with UAE inclusive education laws, KHDA requirements, and Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework
  • Manage the SEND budget and allocate resources such as assistive technologies and learning aids
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate SEND provision, reporting progress to the senior leadership team
  • Foster strong partnerships with parents through meetings, regular communication, and shared decision-making
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, ensuring students with SEND are fully integrated into school life

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Education or related field (Master s in Special Education or Educational Leadership preferred)
  • SENDCO certification or equivalent qualification
  • Teaching qualification such as PGCE or equivalent is mandatory
  • Minimum 3 5 years of teaching experience, with at least part of this in a SENDCO or leadership role
  • Proven track record of working in inclusive education settings, preferably within the UAE
  • Strong knowledge of UAE laws, KHDA guidelines, and SEND policies
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team and manage effective SEND programs across the school
