Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Accountant located in Al Hamriyah.

Unlike a traditional accounting role, this position requires a "builder" mindset. You will be responsible for setting up our entire financial infrastructure from scratch. This includes selecting and implementing accounting software, integrating financial systems with our e-commerce platforms, and establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Setup: Design and implement the Chart of Accounts and set up the accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho) tailored to e-commerce needs.

  • Integration: Manage the integration between the accounting system and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon, Noon) and payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, etc.).

  • Inventory Management: establish accurate inventory tracking, valuation, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reporting.

  • Reconciliation: Perform complex reconciliations of high-volume transactions across multiple payment gateways and bank accounts.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Manage VAT filing, ensure regulatory compliance, and produce monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to guide ownership decisions.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • E-commerce Experience is Mandatory: Proven experience working specifically in the e-commerce sector, with a deep understanding of platform fees, shipping costs, and refund handling.

  • Startup Experience: Demonstrated ability to build financial systems from scratch; you must be comfortable working without pre-existing templates or processes.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of cloud accounting software and e-commerce integrations (e.g., connecting Shopify to Xero/QuickBooks).

  • Financial Acumen: Strong grasp of inventory accounting, margin analysis, and cash flow management.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Certifications: CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.

  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
