Senior Accountant Arabian Horeca Cafe

The role of a senior accountant is to provide support to the accounting department by performing accounting operations of general ledger activities, verify financial transactions and records and monitor the accounting team. The person in this role exhibits analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze the financial statements and forecasts.

• Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing trial balances, and reconciling entries.

• Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.

• Assist the finance manager in preparing documents and interpreting complex financial information for managers, executives, and C-suite members.

• Prepare and file VAT returns for the company.

• Complete internal and external audits by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts, and providing necessary information to auditors.

• Ensure compliance with all internal processes and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Provide ongoing support, training, mentoring, problem resolution, and development to accountants to ensure maximum departmental performance.

• Forecast daily cash positions to ensure adequate liquidity.

• Maintain relationships with banks and other financial institutions to manage banking and financial facilities.

• Ensure company bank accounts conform with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

• Reconcile bank statements against the general ledger and assigned clearing accounts.

• Plan, schedule, coach, and manage staff to promote efficiency in completing their responsibilities.

• Liaise with the leadership team to improve financial processes.

• Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.

• Protect the organization’s value by maintaining the confidentiality of information.
