Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Experienced Tax Analyst / Senior Accountant preferably with UAE tax knowledge of retail industry. Deep understanding of indirect taxes as well as basic understanding of corporate taxes, WHT. GCC experience is a must, responsibilities are as under:


  1. VAT compliance including Drafting and reviewing VAT Returns
  2. Extraction of sales and purchase reports from systems
  3. Reconciliation exercise of relevant GLs with all information that is uploaded in VAT Returns
  4. Periodical AR and AP invoice review to ensure VAT legislation compliance
  5. Liaise with functional heads and teams to align tax requirements
  6. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities on audits, rulings, and compliance matters.
  7. Monitor tax portal and update information as required
  8. Provide guidance and training to internal teams on tax and compliance-related issues
  9. Support with Corporate tax filings and data gathering
  10. Support tax management in strategic decision-making, ensuring that business operations and stakeholders remain tax-efficient and compliant

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ICWA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent qualification/ semi-qualification preferred.
  2. 2+ years of relevant experience in taxation within the United Arab Emirate or GCC region.
  3. Strong understanding of United Arab Emirate VAT, working knowledge of corporate taxes.
  4. Proven experience in tax audits, tax optimization.
  5. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Proficiency in accounting and tax compliance software, and MS Office applications.
