Scope of The Position:

The Senior Database Geologist supports the Chief Database Geoscientist in implementing changes to importing procedures and database customizations. They are also responsible for continually reviewing and maintaining the integrity and quality of the exploration data. They will train users in database software and assist in data importation.

Cognitive Skills (Technical)

*Extensive knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio. *Extensive experience in Fusion, DataShed or Aquire.

Cognitive Skills (Analytical/Constructive)

*Focus on error prevention rather than error correction. *Detail oriented *Can readily recognize anomalous data *Ready to integrate exploration principles with data management
*Knowledge in Python and any big data analytical tools will be added advantage
*Skill in any Business inteligence visualisation tool (Power BI, Tableaue) will be added advantage.

*Integrating data management with practical exploration,

Task Types:

·*Run quality control checks on exploration data.

*Ensure data collected adheres to QAQC protocols and industry best practices
*Ensure accessibility between users and geological data.

*Train users in data collection and importation.

Qualifications:

ꞏꞏBachelor’s Degree in geology, or MSc Degree in relevant Geoscience discipline (will be preferable) from an accredited institution
ꞏ5 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration or development . At least 3 years of experience with geological database management.
ꞏExcellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the desire to learn technical competencies for a variety of potential project types is essential.
ꞏFamiliarity with 3D modelling software (LeapFrog preferable)
ꞏExcellent skills on GIS sofware (ArcGIS or QGIS), excellent skills on SQL and phyton coding, experince with Fusion DB system.
ꞏFlexibility, adaptability, and ability to learn quickly.
ꞏAbility to learn technical software applications as necessary.
