Roles & Responsibilities

Important Note

Only candidates currently based in Riyadh with a valid work visa will be considered.
This role is specifically for engineers who have operated and administered self-managed GitLab environments, not just developers who have used GitLab for CI/CD.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior GitLab Lead Engineer to take ownership of an enterprise GitLab platform. The role focuses on self-managed GitLab architecture, modernizing CI/CD, migrating from legacy toolchains, and optimizing the platform within an enterprise environment.

This is a highly hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to operate independently.


  1. Design and optimize self-managed GitLab architecture

  2. Lead migration from legacy CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins)

  3. Configure and maintain GitLab Geo and multi-region environments

  4. Troubleshoot complex CI/CD pipelines and runner infrastructure

  5. Implement DevSecOps practices, including security scanning

  6. Automate infrastructure using Terraform and/or Ansible

  7. Perform GitLab performance tuning and platform stabilization

  8. Manage backup, restore, HA, and disaster recovery configurations

  9. Document architecture, migration procedures, and operational guides

  10. Work directly with enterprise stakeholders and technical teams

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. 7+ years of hands-on GitLab solution design and implementation experience

  2. Strong experience with self-managed GitLab deployments

  3. Proven experience in GitLab migration projects

  4. Experience with GitLab HA, backup/restore, and disaster recovery

  5. Strong CI/CD engineering background

  6. Experience with Terraform or Ansible

  7. Ability to work independently in an enterprise environment


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container-based environments

  • Strong troubleshooting experience in complex CI/CD environments
