Senior Highway Engineer

The Senior Highway Engineer has a thorough understanding and experience in the Highway & Infrastructure Design field and provide technical leadership, oversight and interdisciplinary coordination on highway design projects.

• Provide technical subject matter expertise to project team members during all stages of design delivery in coordination with Unit Managers and Project Managers
• Provide technical subject matters expertise to clients during proposal stage and in client meetings during design delivery
• Support, review and provide expert input on project data collection to the project team
• Refine selected design options into schematic and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports
• Closely work with project teams for reviewing design deliverables, including conducting detailed reviews and checks and the issuance of reports
• Verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met
• Closely work with Project Managers for the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals
• Liaise with other departments/units to ensure a proper design coordination
• Prepare reports documenting all findings, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the analysis
• Support business development activities including opportunity identification, qualification, bid/proposal development, pricing, on-site demonstrations and customer training
• Support Project Managers in managing external suppliers and subcontracts and in ensuring the adherence of their deliverables with the project scope, schedule and budget
• Provide support to Project Managers in developing periodic progress reports
• Support Project Managers with the management of client relations and expectations
• Support Project Managers in client presentations and workshops
• Conduct QA/QC on design deliverables
• Support in conducting close-out activities and derive lessons learned
• Provide assistance in conducting training sessions
• Represent SETS at the key industry events and conferences
• Oversee junior-level staff in the preparation of calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and presentations

• Bachelor s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering is a plus
• 8+ years of industry experience in the highway-transportation engineering field
• Strong knowledge of the industry standard computer software for the position including AutoCAD, Civil 3D
• Knowledge in Revit, Infraworks are a plus
• Experience with all aspects of highway / freeway design
• Knowledge in Primavera and planning software such as MS project is a plus
• General understanding of traffic engineering principles
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus
