Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Monitor and track the movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and other logistics data.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with logistics providers, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Train and supervise logistics staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present reports and recommendations to management.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies and processes to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Co-ordinate with finance/accounts to plan supplier and line payments
- Check LC/CAD documents before submission
- Day-to-day team management and assignment of roles/responsibilities to your reportees .
- Ensure all necessary documentation is accurate and timely executed
- Negotiate and build partnerships with ocean and air carriers, as well as road transport and warehousing service providers.
- Preparation and supervision of Import/Export documents, LCs
- Liasing between the customer and supplier and ensuring smooth operation of business
- Co-ordinate with finance/accounts to plan supplier and line payments
Desired Candidate Profile
· A post graduate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or another related field is preferred
· Experience 12-15years after PG/ graduation
- 12+ years of relevant experience in Import / Re-export and Cross-trade, preferably within GCC region
- Experience in Polymer/Plastic trading preferable
- Experience in trading company essential
- Sales experience with success in the cold-calling environment.
- Proven record of growing business and starting new accounts.
- Ability to make quick, smart business decisions.
- Previous management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively train others, preferably with experience in doing so.
- Outstanding organizational skills, excellent time management skills, ability to multitask.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
