Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose


To lead and direct statistical operations by collecting, classifying, and analyzing trade data (imports and exports) from Dubai ports. The goal is to ensure data accuracy regarding the type, quantity, and source of goods, elevating the department to meet international standards.


Duties and Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Formulate short- and medium-term objectives and plans for the Institutional Performance Department and integrate them with the objectives and plans of the Strategy and Institutional Excellence Department, ensuring consistency and measurability of goals to achieve performance improvement.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for statistical tasks by establishing standard operating procedures and systems for collecting, classifying, analyzing, and publishing statistical data.

Financial

  • Prepare the annual budget for the Statistics Department, obtain the necessary approvals, and ensure the department follows financial policies and procurement regulations.

Operations

  • Closely monitor statistical information and ensure analysis and reporting are conducted in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of statistical information provided by the statistics team to internal and external clients.

  • Provide business intelligence information to senior management regarding market trends, commercial risks, and related areas to support authorities in decision-making.

  • Utilize the latest available technologies and ensure timely provision of accurate information in managing statistical information procedures, while directing our company projects affecting statistical systems.

  • Formulate the strategy, objectives, and mission of the Statistics Department under the guidance of the Director of Strategy and Institutional Excellence.

  • Plan to elevate the Statistics Department’s performance to a world-class level by ensuring regular use of tools, proper planning, timeliness, and accuracy of statistical data.

  • Manage and ensure customer satisfaction through resolving related issues.

  • Maintain a collaborative approach among departments.

  • Ensure cooperation, communication, and coordination between departments to improve work efficiency.

  • Represent our company in all statistical matters during various local and international meetings, including GCC meetings, and manage discussed issues.

  • Perform any duties assigned by the direct manager properly, within the specified time, with reliability, integrity, and commitment to completing tasks to the highest standard.

Development

  • Lead, manage, motivate, and recommend training members of the Statistics Department team to achieve the goals of the Strategy and Institutional Excellence Department.

  • Monitor the department’s use of resources and identify the best ways to optimize available resources.


Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Experience

  • 10–12 years of experience in related fields.

  • At least 5 years of exposure to budgeting and team management.

  • Experience in planning, execution, process improvement, business development, and innovation.

  • Specialized degree / Higher Diploma in a related field.
