Senior NDT Inspector APAVE Gulf (LLC)

Job Description-

• Ensure that all NDT related documents/procedures/NDT plan are approved, which are in use and advise changes based on actual practice.

• Confirm NDT method selection as per code & project specification (UT, RT, MT, PT).

• Sound experience in Phased Array (PAUT)

• Monitor NDT execution to ensure compliance

• Check NDT personnel qualifications and certifications on the job (ASNT, PCN, ISO 9712 etc.)

• Ensure validity of calibration for equipment’s in use

• Verify surface preparation and safety arrangements

• Ensure inspection interventions points (R, W & H) in approved ITP are respected and implemented.

• Verify Weld identification, traceability and marking

• Verify correct NDT timing (before or after PWHT or both as necessary)

• PAUT- Witness validation of approval of PAUT. Interpretation of C-scans, S-scans etc.

• UT – Calibration blocks and sensitivity setting, Scan coverage (weld and HAZ), Data recording and interpretation

• RT – Review film interpretation, verify IQI placement, sensitivity etc. ensure Radiation safety compliance as per Procedure

• MT – Verify magnetization Technique and demagnetization. Evaluation of Indication

• PT – brand of chemical with expiry date, calibration etc.

• Evaluation and acceptance of NDT results.

Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience with Oil & Gas Projects for all NDT methods (both Structural and Piping)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in advance NDT techniques (PAUT, ToFD, AUT)

• Fully Conversant with various codes & standards (AWS, API, ASTM, ASME, ISO, etc.) and QA/QC procedures

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Qualification

• Bachelor or Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent) – Preferred

• ASNT/ISO/PCN Level III in RT, UT, MT, PT and PAUT – Mandatory
