Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

As Shamal Holding continues to grow, we re in search of a Senior Officer General Ledger. In this role you will be responsible for managing general ledger accounting activities, supporting month-end closing processes, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. In addition to core GL responsibilities, the role will include monitoring and managing the FP&A tool (Jedox) and ensuring the monthly reconciliation of financial data between Jedox and the trial balance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in line with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data recorded in the system.
  • Monitor, manage, and administer the FP&A tool (Jedox) to support reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of financial data between Jedox and the trial balance, ensuring consistency and resolving variances.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team and other business units to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting and reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA).
  • 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Jedox or similar FP&A tools is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
