Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As Senior Planning Assistant you will assist Material Planning Officers and Material Planning Supervisors in the planning/procurement of aircraft spares and tools, in order to meet all operational and maintenance demands. Assist to carry out inventory reviews in order to ensure optimum inventory levels and data accuracy.
In this role you will:
- Work alongside Material Planning Officers and Supervisors in finding cost effective and timely solutions by reviewing IPC, CMM and other documentation and suggesting alternate/breakdown part numbers or In-House/In Situ Repair options.
- Assist the material officers and Supervisors define part numbers and setup interchangeabilities in the ERP system after collecting the required data from IPC, CMM, SB, S-file and other technical documentation
- Assist Material Planning Officers and Supervisors in data compilation required for Float calculations, Float Review, Surplus reviews, Non-moving parts etc.
- Assist in stocktaking of EK Inventory at DXB and provide support at Outstation stores, to achieve the desired level of accuracy of inventory against physical stock levels.
- Assist in reviews of Gross Stock Value, Service Levels, Inventory Float & Quantities, Usage and other Planning Parameters of Inventory Control Module in ERP system, in order to maintain data accuracy.
- Assist with the generation and action of the various reports associated with inventory control
- Assist Material Planning Officers and Supervisors in preparing usage of spares at outstations and inventory reviews. Create station lists as per standard recommended spares lists and update EK stock wherever available to identify material shortages for new stations or aircraft type changes.
- Coordinate with Repairs, Maintenance and Warehouse teams to follow up on material shortages against Nil stock reports, assist in tracking Dues In components and clearing Store Discrepancies.
- Expedite open purchase orders/quotes by liaising with external suppliers and freight forwarders to obtain material/tooling as per the required timelines.
- Assist the Material Planning Supervisors in the collection and processing of data for submission of daily, weekly, and monthly analysis reports.
Desired Candidate Profile
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- Experience in an airline or third-party maintenance environment, (less may be considered if academic qualifications are greater).
- Industry experience in supply chain management roles is preferable (Warehouse and Logistics, Repairs Management, Material Planning/Support & Inventory Control, Technical Purchasing). Preference will be given to personal with airline experience, however consideration will also be given to candidates with good educational background and experience in above functions from other fields involving high value, technically complex products.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of aircraft components and associated systems is desirable. An acceptable working Experience of ERP (Inventory Management) System.
