Senior Quantity Surveyor (Villa/Building)

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor (Villa/ Building) to join our team! In this role you will get to perform a variety of commercial activities (individual or as part of a team) on an assigned project/program. The role is to provide comprehensive quantity surveying and cost management services for a villas development project, representing the client in all commercial and contractual matters. The role covers verification of quantities, preparation of cost estimates at various stages, evaluation of variations (including PC and PS adjustments), review of payment certificates for contractors and supervision consultants, and support on pre and post contract commercial and contractual issues under FIDIC or similar bespoke contracts.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Knowledge of pre and post contract administration for different contract types (re measure and lump sum is essential)

• Preparing / reviewing the Bills of Quantities

• Prepare and maintain budgets, estimates, cash flow forecasts, cost reports

• Verify and certify consultants' and contractors' interim applications for payment and issue payment certificates

• Review and assess consultants' and contractors claims

• Review and assess Extension of Time claim in coordinate with the planning engineer and as directed by the Project Manager

• Participation in site visits & preparation of reports as directed by the project manager

• Ensure the submission of consultants' and contractors insurances/bonds in accordance with the contract

• Assist in the close out procedure and prepare the consultants' and contractor s final account

• Ensure completeness and validity of contractual requirements.

• Advice on Contractor s and Consultant's resource allocation.

• Ensure prompt submittal and completeness of valuations.

• Check and record measure of work done.

• Monitor contracts final cost estimate.

• Maintain expenditure records.

• Review, negotiate and prepare claim settlements.

• Coordinate and monitor activities of his team.

• Prepare financial statements for monthly report.

• Perform other duties associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering with 10-15 years of related work experience involving in villa or building projects within UAE, (Dubai experience is advantage).

• Must have a sound knowledge about contractual and commercial management, pre and post contract administration.

• Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract commercial documents, drawings and specifications.

• Experience working with reputable consultants, and/or PMC organizations, and/or major top-tier contractors.

• Prior experience on villas, residential communities, or mixed-use developments in the UAE is an advantage.

• Excellent written and spoken English; report-writing and presentation skills.
