Senior Shipping Operations Officer

Duties:

Daily Operations Management:

• Coordinate day-to-day shipping operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services.
• Resolve any operational issues promptly and effectively.

Team Support and Collaboration:

• Support the shipping and NVOCC teams in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
• Provide guidance and assistance to team members to improve performance and achieve operational goals.
• Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.

Vessel & Port Operations

• Oversee daily vessel operations, including berthing, loading, unloading, and turnaround times.
• Ensure smooth coordination with port authorities, terminal operators, and shipping agents.
• Monitor vessel schedules and liaise with stakeholders to minimize delays.
• Supervise cargo operations, ensuring compliance with handling procedures and safety regulations.

Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports on shipping operations.
• Conduct a detailed analysis of operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide management with actionable insights based on report findings.
• Keep a detailed knowledge on the market and share the market analysis accordingly with management.

Training and Development:

• Train team members on reporting techniques, professional customer service, and operational best practices.
• Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Customer Service Excellence:

• Ensure that the team provides professional and efficient customer service to all clients.
• Handle escalated customer inquiries and resolve issues to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Technological Advancements:

• Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in the shipping industry.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve operational efficiency.
• Implement and train the team on new technological solutions.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and company policies.
• Promote a culture of safety within the team and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
