Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage quantity surveying activities for mechanical, piping, and HVAC systems, ensuring accurate cost control and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review detailed take-offs, cost estimates, and budgets for SMP scopes, identifying potential cost savings and risks.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, verify quantities, and ensure adherence to project specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and change orders with subcontractors and clients, ensuring fair and reasonable settlements.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress reports, including cost forecasts, earned value analysis, and variance explanations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior surveyors and site teams on SMP quantity surveying matters.
  • Review and approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of all project costs, variations, and contractual documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Implement and maintain quantity surveying procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering Engineering, or a related field.
  • Holds relevant professional qualifications such as MRICS or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates a minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the oil and gas construction industry.
  • Exhibits a strong understanding of mechanical, piping, and HVAC systems and their associated costs.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using quantity surveying software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and estimation tools.
  • Exhibits excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholders.
  • Exhibits the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
