Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

What You Will Do (Core Responsibilities):

  • HSSE Plan Enforcement: Rigorously review and comment on contractors and subcontractors HSSE plans, method statements, and risk assessments, ensuring strict adherence to local codes, regulations, and client specifications.
  • On-Site Audits & Inspection: Conduct regular, proactive HSSE audits and inspections across the site to monitor activities, record all safety defects, and ensure continuous adherence to approved HSSE practices.
  • Incident Management: Lead accident and incident investigations on site, ensuring thorough documentation and accurate reporting of findings.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Assist in preparing periodic HSSE performance reports, clearly highlighting key non-conformances, and collaborating with contractor teams to develop and track corrective action plans and mitigation measures.
  • Training & Awareness: Conduct site-specific HSSE training and awareness sessions for supervision staff and ensure that all site safety instructions are implemented before the start of new work.
  • Documentation: Set up and maintain a comprehensive filing system for all HSSE records, including meeting minutes, inspection reports, and monthly safety reports.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal Quality & HSSE Sections, Project Managers, and contractor teams to ensure optimal HSSE performance and client satisfaction.

What You Will Bring (Mandatory Skills & Qualifications):

  • Education: Minimum requirement of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
  • Certification: Certification in HSSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in an HSSE function with a regional or multinational engineering firm.
    • Specific experience with HSSE audit activities and direct involvement on construction/construction supervision projects is essential.
    • Prior working experience within the Middle East is a strong advantage.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • In-depth knowledge of construction supervision services and HSSE best practices.
    • Strong understanding of local HSSE regulations and codes.
  • Core Competencies: Excellent attention to detail, strong communication, and presentation skills required for effective training, reporting, and coordination.
  • Language: Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic is required.
