Conduct pre-excavation site inductions and brief crew members on daily tasks, ensuring the "Declaration" of understanding is met for trenching, pipe laying, and backfilling. Supervise both manual and mechanical trench excavation, ensuring digging is performed safely in layers up to the standard 1.2m depth. Ensure the correct tools are used, including proper size JCB buckets for mechanical work and appropriate hand tools (shovels, pickaxes) for manual digging. Oversee the laying of D54 ducts using proper glue joints and manage the cable pulling process using 8mm ropes, rodders, and cable pullers. Monitor backfilling procedures, ensuring the trench is filled to 60cm initially, warning tape is correctly laid, and final compaction up to ground level is achieved. Enforce strict adherence to safety guidelines, ensuring all laborers wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots. Ensure safety barriers and flashlights are placed around the 1.5m to 6.0m work zones.

Submit daily logs of trench length excavated, ducts laid, and cables pulled.

Submit material requests no later than seven days after work commences.

Immediately report any utility strikes, falling object hazards, or PPE non-compliance to the Civil Engineer.

Report daily team attendance and ensure all workers have signed the safety declaration.
