The Solutions Architect Job Overview:

The Solutions Architect (SA) position is a technical leadership role supporting a Sales region. Architects are typically assigned a technology area to focus on such as ADC Infrastructure, Modern Apps, Security, Service Provider. This role is primarily focused on ADC infrastructure and modern apps (including AI architectures) and with a focus on automation. The ideal candidate has a solid ADC and modern apps background with an understanding on how application security solutions are integrated and automated into these traditional and modern architectures.

The SA s primary function is to work collaboratively with Sales teams identifying appropriate F5 solutions to address customers business needs. They provide technical expertise and business understanding across specific or multiple industries. They champion our customers requirements and ensure they are understood across other teams within F5 such as Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Product Development.

The SA also shares knowledge and educates the solution engineering team internally and externally via whitepapers, trainings, demos, blogs, tech-tips, presentations etc.

To be effective, an SA needs to blend strong business acumen with excellent technical skills and knowledge on both F5 products and the eco-system that we work in. He/she needs to be an authority in his/her field of expertise and act as a trusted advisor towards our customers.

What you ll do?

• Work on strategic opportunities within the assigned region/area of specialization and provide architectural guidance and technical expertise for the entire F5 portfolio. The goal is to listen carefully to the customer s requirements and then position the best possible solution within the F5 portfolio addressing those requirements.
• Play the role of an evangelist, and thought leader in the area of technical specialization
• Collaborate with other solution architects and internal business leaders to share ideas, identify common customer pain points and trends and identify appropriate F5 solutions
• Work closely with our internal product management and services teams and provide technical and business understanding for product launches and updates that would be beneficial for our customers
• Provide mentorship as needed to the Solution Engineering community in the organization and make sure they are enabled and equipped to position our solutions correctly
  
  
  

How you ll do it:

• Playing the role of an evangelist, thought leader, mentor in the field of security
• Act as a liaison between Sales and Marketing, Product Management, Product Development
• Working with strategic business opportunities across the EMEA region
  
  
  

What you ll bring:

• Advanced knowledge of application delivery (ADC, DNS) in hardware, software and SaaS based architectures
• Experience with automation principles and tools (Ansible, Terraform, Git, Cloud templates, declarative API, DevOps methodologies, infrastructure-as-code, security-as-code, )
• Strong knowledge of app delivery and networking in the most popular private and public cloud platforms
• Solid knowledge of micro-services, containers and Kubernetes platforms
• Solid knowledge of cloud-native ADC, Kubernetes ingress and Gateway API concepts (experience with NGINX is a bonus)
• Solid knowledge of API gateways (experience with NGINX is a bonus)
• Knowledge of security solutions with specific focus on application security is highly desired (web application firewall, DDOS, bot mitigation, API security, identity & access management, anti-fraud, client-side security, LLM security)
• Deep knowledge of F5 Solutions
• Public speaking skills (events, conferences)
• Experience with publishing whitepapers/solution articles, blogs, tech-tips etc
• Extensive experience making product demonstrations, value propositions and technical presentations to technical and business leads
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to adapt your message to your audience
• Architectural problem solving skills
• Self learner and curious in new technologies
• Strong business mindset translating technical features into business values
• 8 + years of related industry experience
• Relevant certifications a plus
