Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Position Title: Senior Mechanical Technician

Key Objectives: Excellent skills in all aspects of mechanical issues, breakdown recovery, dismounting and mounting procedures, basic skills in hydraulics, self-driven, skills in safe working procedures, independent working, team-minded. Basic reporting skills and shall have exposure to computer knowledge. English verbally and in writing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for his work and his subordinate workers assign to him
• Shall provide effective & efficient supervision of all technical activities, deputize by the supervisor/Executive & contribute to the smooth running of the equipment.
• Guides and enforce rules to all trainees, technicians and other engineering contractors assigned under him.
• To update the Equipment Deployment, Availability, Preventive Maintenance & Monitor the equipment s performance and schedule corrective maintenance.
• Identifies mechanical damages, dismounts these parts, repairs and/or replaces damaged or worn-out parts like hydraulic components and machinery parts.
• Performs maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment, such as Straddle Carriers, Forklifts, Empty Handlers, Reach Stackers or any other equipment to be operated on the terminal area.
• Performs routine maintenance checks and adjustments as per manufacturers requirements to components such as fluid level, hoses, belts, brakes, clutches, gearboxes, winches, ropes, filters, oil, etc. He is familiar with all the required tools, required for such tasks.
• He identifies the correct required parts or components, decides if they can be repaired or need to be changed.
• Responsible for housekeeping and cleanliness of the equipment
• He will communicate and report all activities and recommendations, or abnormalities, to the workshop supervisor.
• Shall be able to identify required actions, provide possible recommendations, and conduct the required by himself or together with a team.
