Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
u>Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead T&M proposal and other transactional activities, including the coordination of cross-functional team for the formulation of creative, commercially and technically sound proposals that capitalize competitive strengths to serve the customer, resulting in successful execution of definitive sales agreements while delivering shareholder value.
- May negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing. May include compiling and submitting required tender documentation.
- Requires specialized knowledge across product lines, markets, sales processes, or customer groups. Requires strong commercial awareness, and is expected to influence the development of strategy for their broad sales territory, including control of resources.
- Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
u>Required Qualifications
- For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Sales & Proposals. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
- For roles in USA - Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Finance from an accredited university or college or equivalent from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of relevant work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in commercial finance, commercial proposals, product/customer support, aircraft engines or related functions preferred
u>Desired Characteristics
- Experience in developing, negotiating or managing long term customer service agreements preferred
- Prior experience with customer specification review, proposal development, contract development and negotiations. Including equipment sales and consortium agreements.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Experience in the development and/or support of digital tools to improve data collection, reporting, and processing of commercial proposals and liabilities
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects and established project management skills
- Ability to influence others, lead change and accomplish goals through collaborative effort in a constantly changing environment to achieve proposal milestones
- Technical knowledge of GE Aviation products and services and the environment where they will be used
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong business acumen
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Clear thinker: Simplifying strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed & accuracy based on best available information & communicating priorities clearly & concisely.
