Roles & Responsibilities
The Stewarding Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in a hospitality establishment. As a key member of the hospitality team, the Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the stewarding staff, ensuring that all kitchens and service areas are kept sanitary, and that all equipment is clean and in proper working order. This position requires a strong leader with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen or similar environment, the ability to manage a diverse team, and a commitment to health and safety standards. The Stewarding Supervisor will be pivotal in ensuring that the dining experience for all guests is exceptional by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of the stewarding team effectively.
- Ensure all kitchen and dining areas are maintained to health standards.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of all service areas.
- Oversee the cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation of kitchen equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of cleanliness and safety procedures.
- Train new stewarding staff on departmental standards and safety procedures.
- Manage inventory levels for cleaning supplies and order when necessary.
- Schedule shifts for stewarding staff ensuring optimal coverage at all times.
- Address and resolve any maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist in budget development to manage operational costs effectively.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in a hospital kitchen or similar environment.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
