Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of structural designs of buildings on-site, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of structural elements during construction, identifying and documenting any deviations or potential issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to address technical queries, provide clarifications, and resolve on-site construction challenges.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals, ensuring compliance with design intent and project requirements.
  • Monitor construction progress and provide timely updates to the project manager, highlighting any potential delays or risks related to structural works.
  • Ensure that all structural works are executed in accordance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of structural elements with other project components.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of site activities, including inspection reports, site diaries, and progress reports.
  • Participate in site meetings, contributing technical expertise and offering solutions to complex structural issues.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Holds a Professional Engineer license or equivalent, demonstrating professional competence and ethical standards.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in structural engineering of mid rise residential buildings, with a focus on site supervision and construction.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of structural design principles, construction methods, and building codes
  • Proficient in using structural analysis software
  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a proven track record of resolving complex engineering challenges.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of construction materials, their properties, and their application in structural systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Exhibits a proactive and detail-oriented approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results and ensuring project success.
