Job Description

As a Team Leader Driver, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our driving team. Your leadership and organizational skills will be crucial in coordinating transportation schedules, monitoring vehicle maintenance, and ensuring that all drivers adhere to safety and compliance regulations. This role requires a balance between management duties and the practical aspects of driving. You will be responsible for setting expectations, providing training, and conducting performance reviews for the driving team. In addition, you will serve as the point of contact for resolving any issues that arise during transit, with an emphasis on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high operational standards.


Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of drivers to ensure effective operations.
  • Coordinate and assign driving schedules, optimizing for efficiency and safety.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing and repairs.
  • Conduct regular safety and compliance training sessions for all team members.
  • Perform regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to drivers.
  • Resolve operational issues and emergencies promptly, maintaining service quality.
  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with local and federal regulations.
  • Liaise with management to implement strategies for improved operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
  • Serve as the main contact point for client communications and satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for team development and propose relevant training programs.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to coordinate company-wide logistics activities.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably within transportation or logistics.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety compliance regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of drivers effectively.
  • Proficiency in using logistics and scheduling software is an advantage.
