Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Specializes in skilled and semi-skilled carpentry tasks, engaging in the repair, alteration, and construction of wooden and masonry structures. Oversees and executes carpentry repairs for both exterior and interior facilities, including doors, windowsills, locks, and cabinet drawers. Serves as the department's locksmith, controls locks and key distribution. Handles administrative duties related to work orders and staff scheduling, ensuring timely project completion. Assesses project requirements, estimate time and material needs and employ various techniques in cabinet-making.


  • Performs skilled and semi-skilled carpentry tasks in the repair, alteration, and construction of wooden, and masonry structures.
  • Directs and performs carpentry repairs on exterior and interior of facilities, repairs and replaces doors, windowsills, door locks, cabinet drawers, etc.
  • Serves as the locksmith for the department and manages all locks, key distribution, etc.
  • Performs administrative duties associated with work orders and scheduling staff to ensure projects are completed.
  • Assigns workers to projects as necessary by workload.
  • Estimates time and material requirements of work projects assigned.
  • Performs various techniques in cabinet-making.
  • Recommends improvements, changes or new techniques and procedures.
  • Implements Sustainable Practices/Policies in Facilities Management operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Industrial Training Certificate
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Healthcare Organization’s maintenance department or similar institution
  • Knowledge of trade training on a wide range of cross-trade activities
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standard
  • Skills in computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to read Engineering Drawings
