Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Convoy Support: Drive the trailing vehicle in a convoy, maintaining constant communication with the Lead Driver and managing the "tail" of the line.

  • Logistics & Supply: Transport and manage essential supplies, including water, fuel, medical kits, and spare parts.

  • Navigation: Utilize GPS and topographical maps to navigate rugged terrain, unpaved roads, and remote areas.

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Address minor mechanical issues (tire changes, fluid top-offs) in the field.

  • Safety & Recovery: Assist in vehicle recovery operations (winching, towing) if a primary vehicle becomes stuck or disabled.

  • Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or mechanical failures encountered on the trail.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Licensing: Valid heavy or light vehicle driver s license (depending on vehicle type) with a clean driving record.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably in off-road or remote environments.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating 4WD systems, winches, and recovery gear. Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics is highly preferred.

  • Communication: Strong verbal communication skills; experience using VHF/UHF radio systems is a plus.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to drive for long hours in challenging weather conditions and perform physical tasks like loading/unloading gear.
