Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties:

Teach undergraduate-level courses in their field of expertise.

Develop and revise course materials and lesson plans.

Evaluate student performance and provide feedback.

Advise students and serve on thesis committees.

Engage in scholarly research and publications in their field of expertise.

Participate in departmental and university-wide committees.

Supervise teaching assistants and other support staff as needed.

Attend and participate in departmental meetings and events.

Serve as a mentor to students and junior faculty members.

Participate in student recruitment and outreach activities.

Collaborate with colleagues on research projects and grant proposals.

Provide professional development opportunities for students.

Participate in student advising and mentoring.

Attend and participate in academic conferences and other professional development opportunities.

Serve as a representative of the university in the community.

Provide administrative support as needed.

Attend and participate in academic workshops, seminars and other educational events.

Collaborate with other departments and organizations within the university.

Any other academic duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

Priority for Omani

Master's degree in the field of specialization from a recognized university.

The master s and the bachelor s degrees must be from the same specialization.

Teaching/research experience for at least 2-3 years.

A Master degree from a recognized university in the field of expertise required.

Two years of teaching experience at the university level.

Fluent in English and good knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage.

Evidence of research and publication records in their field of expertise.

Proficient in both oral and written communication.

Excellent decision-making, organizing, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Excellent critical and analytical thinking abilities.

Excellent computer and technological skills.

Excellent precision and detail-oriented skills.

The capacity to manage several tasks at once and operate autonomously.

Capacity to fulfill deadlines and work under pressure.

Capacity to collaborate with a variety of individuals.

Ability to lead, mentor, and supervise others.

Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Good understanding of academic policies and procedures.

Good understanding of university and departmental goals.

Strong understanding of academic accreditation and compliance standards.
