Virtualization/Infrastructure Engineer

We are currently looking for a Virtualization / Infrastructure Engineer who will be responsible for the maintenance, support and resolution of any escalated IT infrastructure issues along with a number of key technical projects handling Virtualisation platforms like VMware, Microsoft, Cisco and Openstack alongside broad ranging, high availability applications.

Responsibilities:

• Experience of Design, Configure and support to Hypervisors and Providing 2nd line support to the computing and storage infrastructure.
• Manage the server infrastructure and assist in the provisioning of new Virtual Machines and their implementation and participate in data center infrastructure upgrades.
• Experience with a variety of Hypervisor infrastructure technologies, including VMWare (vSphere, vBlock, vCloud, vShield Edge, NSX), Microsoft Hyper-V, Cisco ACI, Cisco UCS, Openstack and other similar components.
• Commissioning and Decommissioning of servers, patch upgrades, Capacity planning and Changes on the infrastructure according to the scalability.
• Working with the core team on tight deadlines on exciting new projects and Error log checking, performance monitoring and tuning.
• Support internal and external client server farms, storage & backups, troubleshooting to resolve issues and diagnose chronicle issues internally and for clients.
• Can work on a shift basis on a rota providing 24x7 Infrastructure support for our data centres.
• Reviews and updates operational services processes daily, automation using Scripts like Powershell or VBS and creating Baseline documents for Servers.
• Maintains operational documentation necessary to operate all systems, including execution schedules, job descriptions, flow charts and escalation procedures.

Skills Required:

• 5+ years of experience in Virtualization technology and VMware VCP certified professional.
• 3+ years combined experience in technical hands-on design, implementation and support of medium to large IT Data Center operations.
• Perform updates to VMware, VDI, Linux/Windows systems.
• Proficiency in VMware vSphere Installation/Administration/ troubleshooting.
• VMware vSphere (ESXi) 5.5 & 6, VMware vCenter Server Appliance 5.5, 6 & 6.5, vCenter and vSwitch Management.
• Microsoft Hyper-V 2012 R2/2016, Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2/2016
• Experience of provisioning workflow processes and automation platform.
• 2+ Year experience in Cisco UCS, Cisco ACI, and Openstack environments.
