About The Job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, within the Food and Beverage Department, in Dubai as a Waiter/ess in a Banquet, you play a critical role in providing exceptional guest experiences during events and functions. This includes setting up banquet spaces, serving food and beverages, and ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience meets our standards. The Waiter or waitress will report to the banquet supervisor.

As a Waiter/ess, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the banquet menu and beverage options, offering suggestions and answering questions to enhance the guest experience.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, communicate clearly to the kitchen and bar staff, and ensure all orders are delivered promptly and according to guest specifications.
• Address special requests or dietary needs professionally and carefully, ensuring management and kitchen colleagues are informed of guest preferences or allergies.
• Provide attentive and personalized service to guests, ensuring their needs are met professionally and efficiently.
• Set up banquet spaces according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, and place settings, ensuring a clean and inviting dining environment.
• Create WOW moments to surprise and delight guests, ensuring customer satisfaction from arrival to departure, following MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQES).
  
  

As a Waiter/ess, We Expect From You

• A High School qualification or equivalent is preferred, and a Degree or higher national diploma in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management is advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years experience working as a waiter/waitress, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or luxury hotel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with additional languages such as Arabic being a plus.
• Knowledge of acceptable dining service procedures and standards, and familiarity with restaurant point of sales and cashiering procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues, and understanding of the service flow.
• Demonstrates the physical ability to stand for extended periods and the flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with business requirements.
