Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Greet and escort customers to their tables.
- Present the menu and provide detailed information about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies.
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses.
- Inform customers about the day s specials.
- Offer menu recommendations upon request.
- Upsell additional products when appropriate.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using POS software, order slips, or by memory.
- Verify customers IDs to ensure they meet the minimum age requirements for alcoholic beverages.
- Communicate order details to the kitchen staff.
- Serve food and drink orders.
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation, and report any issues.
- Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area.
- Deliver checks and collect payments.
- Transport dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, menu changes, and service specifications for reservations (e.g., parties).
- Adhere to all relevant health department regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to guests.
Requirements
- Proven experience 1-3 year as a waitress/waiter.
- Hands-on experience with cash registers and ordering systems
- Basic math skills
- Attentive and patient with customers
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a knack for thriving in a fast-paced environment
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Team-oriented
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- High school diploma required; food safety training is a plus
