Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities


  • Prepare accurate 2D shop drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

  • Update and revise drawings based on feedback from site, production, or manufacturing teams.

  • Ensure all drawings follow company drafting standards, including layers, line weights, dimensioning, and naming conventions.

  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM), including all parts, fasteners, and materials required for fabrication and assembly.

  • Manage and track Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), ensuring all design changes are documented, reviewed, and approved.

  • Assist in preparing technical documents, including assembly instructions, operation manuals, and technical reports.

  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of drawings, revisions, and engineering documentation.

  • Contact vendors and suppliers to obtain quotations for materials and components.

  • Coordinate ordering of sample parts for testing and design verification.

  • Maintain a technical library of vendor catalogs, datasheets, and samples.

  • Provide technical support to the procurement team regarding specifications and material selection.

  • Prepare technical submittal packages for client and consultant approval.

  • Develop Specifications Compliance Statements, ensuring that the design fully complies with all customer and project technical requirements.

  • Review drawings, datasheets, and calculations to ensure compliance with contract documents, applicable standards, and codes.

  • Assist senior engineers in design development, calculations, and problem-solving.

  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and coordination sessions.

  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, documentation, and drafting standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in product design, prototyping, and manufacturing.

  • Essential skills include proficiency in CAD software SolidWorks, AutoCAD

  • Deep knowledge of engineering principles, material science, and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.

  • Good communication and coordination skills

  • Time management and multitasking
