Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and coordinate the activities of welding personnel, ensuring that work is performed according to specifications and timelines.
- Oversee daily welding activities, ensuring adherence to welding procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of welding work to confirm compliance with relevant codes and industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS).
- Provide guidance and mentorship to subordinates on culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness.
- Manage and maintain welding supplies, equipment, and workflow to optimize productivity and efficiency on-site.
- Work closely with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of welding activities.
- Enforce safety protocols and best practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Identify and address welding-related issues or challenges that arise during operations, providing technical support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including performance reports, weld inspection results, and any incidents or non-conformities.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum High National Diploma or equivalent in the relevant discipline
- Certification in welding or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ direct and relevant experience preferably within the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical or Heavy Manufacturing Industry.
- Strong knowledge of various welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick) and associated materials.
- Familiar with industry standards and regulations governing welding practices.
- Strong supervisory and team management skills.
