Roles & Responsibilities

DARPE Introduction

DARPE is a subscription-based digital platform that helps non-profit organizations, consulting firms, public agencies and individual consultants across the MENA Region. Job Summary

  • As a subscription-based platform, DARPE website must maintain high performance, reliability, and uninterrupted access for restricted and unrestricted information for its users all the time.
  • The Website Administrator will have end-to-end responsibility for DARPE platform.
  • Deliver seamless user experience and backend operations for non-tech users of the team.
  • Full responsibility, including coding, maintaining customed posts, accessibility, outbound e-mails and newsletters, performance optimization and website security.
  • Immediately, resolve any technical issue affecting user access, subscriptions, or core functionality. Time is sensitive.

Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Stability

  • Take full technical ownership of the DARPE website and platform.
  • Act immediately on any technical error, bug, or performance degradation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve risks before they impact users.

Website Development

  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and themes
  • Write clean, secure, and well-structured PHP code
  • Work with WordPress database architecture and optimize queries
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services when required
  • Maintain clean, documented, and scalable code
  • Improve existing functionalities and lead platform enhancements
  • Ensure correct handling of user access levels, upgrades, downgrades, and renewals
  • Follow WordPress coding standards and best practices

Security, Hosting & Infrastructure

  • Manage hosting servers, and backups
  • Ensure platform security, data protection, and vulnerability mitigation
  • Monitor and maintain database health and integrity
  • Apply updates and patches without disrupting live users
  • Handle server administration, monitoring, and performance optimization
  • Troubleshoot issues related to WordPress, hosting, and server environments

Desired Candidate Profile

Location / Time: Egypt - Part time and Hybrid

Level: Mid-Level (Minimum 3 years of Experience)

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in website administration or full-stack web development.
  • Proven experience managing membership-based platforms, hosting environments, and custom-coded websites.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress, custom plugins, PHP development, website security, databases, and server management.

Job Requirements and Skills Required

  • The role requires excellent understanding to WordPress (themes and plugins), PHP, custom development, and database logic.
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Solid understanding of WordPress core, hooks, filters, and REST API
  • Experience with cloud hosting environments (Linode, DigitalOcean)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
  • Full-stack web development expertise
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to urgent technical issues
  • High attention to detail and accountability
  • Clear communication with non-technical team
  • Proactive mindset focused on prevention, not just fixes
