Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Workshop Planner in the automotive industry, you will be at the forefront of coordinating and overseeing the smooth operation of automotive workshops. Your role is critical in ensuring that all workshop activities are planned strategically to meet both client and business needs efficiently. This includes scheduling repairs, maintenance tasks, and managing the workforce to optimize productivity and minimize downtime. You will liaise with various departments to ensure resources are available and track the progress of ongoing projects, emphasizing client satisfaction and quality service delivery. Your expertise in planning and organization will contribute significantly to the operational success and reputation of the workshop.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed workshop plans to enhance productivity and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate and schedule automotive repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Maintain clear communication with clients to ensure their service needs are met.
- Liaise with supply chain to ensure timely availability of required parts and tools.
- Monitor ongoing workshop projects to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Implement best practices for workshop operations to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Track inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for restocking supplies.
- Ensure workforce is optimally allocated to tasks based on skill sets and project requirements.
- Conduct regular meetings with workshop staff to discuss progress and address issues.
- Prepare reports on workshop performance and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Adhere to all safety standards and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective team management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in workshop planning or management within the automotive industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various tasks concurrently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective liaison with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in using workshop management software and tools for planning purposes.
- In-depth understanding of automotive repair and maintenance processes and requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with a focus on quality service.
