Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct safe and effective yoga classes, tailoring sessions to accommodate various skill levels and physical limitations, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.
- Provide hands-on adjustments and modifications to students' poses, ensuring proper alignment, preventing injuries, and maximizing the benefits of each posture.
- Demonstrate and explain yoga poses (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation practices, providing clear and concise instructions to guide students.
- Create and implement well-structured class plans, incorporating a variety of yoga styles and sequences to maintain student engagement and progress.
- Assess students' physical conditions and limitations, offering modifications and alternative poses to ensure inclusivity and prevent injuries.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment, motivating students to achieve their fitness goals and develop a deeper connection with their bodies and minds.
- Stay updated on the latest yoga research, techniques, and trends, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills to provide the best possible instruction.
- Maintain a clean and organized studio space, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and readily accessible for each class.
- Build and maintain a strong rapport with students, offering personalized guidance and support to help them achieve their individual goals.
- Promote your classes and studio, attracting new students and contributing to the overall growth and success of the yoga program.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification from a Yoga Alliance-approved school, demonstrating a foundational understanding of yoga principles.
- Has a minimum of 2 years of experience teaching yoga classes, showcasing a proven ability to lead and guide students effectively.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for students of all levels.
- Possesses a deep personal yoga practice, demonstrating a commitment to the practice and a genuine passion for sharing its benefits.
- Displays the ability to adapt teaching styles to accommodate diverse learning styles and physical abilities, ensuring inclusivity.
- Has a basic understanding of business and marketing principles, supporting the promotion and growth of the yoga program.
- Demonstrates the ability to create and implement well-structured class plans, incorporating a variety of yoga styles.
- Exhibits a professional demeanor and a positive attitude, creating a welcoming and motivating atmosphere for students.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide modifications and adjustments to poses, ensuring proper alignment and preventing injuries.
- Exhibits a strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology, enabling the safe and effective instruction of yoga poses.
