Air Traffic Control Assistant

To provide operational support for delivery of safe, expeditious and orderly air traffic control (ATC) services in accordance with applicable regulations and the certificate of competency at a specific air traffic services unit

Duties, Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Execute instructions from ATCO / ATC Supervisor to facilitate provision of air traffic services ensuring
• Take appropriate measures to ensure orders and instructions for ATCAs are up to date and relevant
• Respond to incoming estimates from the system and via telephone and update flight information in a timely manner
• Create missing flight plans and update flight plans received from outside units to enter data into the system in a timely manner
• Coordinate with adjacent units, operational management and airport operation center to ensure aircraft parking allocation, returning flights, diversions, change of parking bays, etc.
• Monitor outgoing / incoming flights and other flights operating in the area of jurisdiction to ensure air traffic information is duly communicated to the respective external / internal units & sectors in a prompt and accurate manner
• Monitor and update departure slots for Abu Dhabi and Bateen airports to ensure ATCOs have current information from DFLOW for any constraints
• Monitor and update ATIS (departure and arrival) to ensure flights have current information relating to weather and other operational information
• Monitor ATC frequencies to provide timely response to any inquiry by ATC such as towing aircraft at the airport
• Remain up to date with the contingency procedure so as to provide support to ATCOs in the event of contingency (fire, power loss, emergency, etc)
• Take necessary measures to ensure the job knowledge remain current and competence levels are maintained in compliance
• Perform additional responsibilities that may arise from time to time to ensure operational requirements are met
• Safety responsibilities and accountabilities of this position are detailed in the Safety Management Manual of the organization. The Job holder is required to maintain awareness and knowledge in relation to their safety responsibilities associated with their job function
