Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Supplier Development Programs • Support in attracting new suppliers to localize manufacturing in UAE. • Cooperate with Procurement and Business areas to establish and manage development programs for selected suppliers, ensuring mutual benefits for EGA, suppliers, and local communities. • Identify opportunities for local industry growth, supporting the initiation of new business opportunities related to sourcing and procurement. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships • Search for potential local and international partners, develop relationships, and mature business cases in collaboration with Strategy & Corporate Development (S&CD) for equity participation or co-investments. • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external entities to align supplier development with EGA's strategies. • Proactively arrange meetings, workshops, and site visits to discover and create new opportunities for supplier enhancement and local business development. Risk Assessment and Compliance • Support developing risk assessment for suppliers based on regional risks and assist in supplier segmentation based on criticality. Reporting and Performance Management • Monitor and report on supplier development progress, and performance metrics, generating data analyses. • Assist in setting and tracking KPIs for supplier development, aligning with Strategy & Corporate Development (S&CD). • Support implement a robust supplier performance framework. Process Improvement and Digital Tools • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodology to optimize supplier development processes. • Liaise with IT to implement digital tools for efficient supplier development, data gathering, and performance tracking. Safety, Quality & Environment • Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. AUTHORITY/ DECISION MAKING: • Recommend supplier development initiatives, partnerships, and risk mitigation actions, subject to approval by the Senior Director. • Authorize minor operational decisions within delegated limits for supplier training and support programs. • Follow EGA’s Delegation of Authority for all other actions, escalating complex issues to senior leadership.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Sustainability, Finance, or equivalent.

    Minimum Experience

    • 5-7 years’ relevant experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Development. • Experience in the metals and mining industry, particularly aluminium, is preferred. • Track record in developing supplier programs and handling complex business cases in an international setting.

    Skills

    • Good knowledge of the aluminium industry, market trends, suppliers, and procurement policies. • Proficiency in supply chain tools, systems, and digital processes. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills for developing business cases and partnerships. • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and relationship building. • Ability to work collaboratively across the organization with agility and a structured approach.
