Roles & Responsibilities
An Audio Visual Estimator plays a crucial role in the planning and execution of audio visual projects. This professional is responsible for assessing the technical and budgetary aspects of potential projects, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, and that proposals are both competitive and profitable. They must possess a deep understanding of audio visual systems, including the latest technologies and trends in the industry, as well as strong analytical skills to accurately project costs and resources needed. The estimator works closely with engineering teams, project managers, and clients to create detailed estimates that satisfy all parties involved. A successful Audio Visual Estimator is detail-oriented, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where precision and accuracy are of utmost importance.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for audio visual systems tailored to client needs.
- Analyze project requirements and specifications to provide accurate price estimates.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to align on project goals.
- Review and interpret blueprints and technical documents to create estimation strategies.
- Engage with suppliers and vendors to secure accurate pricing and product availability.
- Create and maintain comprehensive records of estimates, project scopes, and revisions.
- Assist in value engineering processes to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Prepare and present estimation reports and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and pricing to maintain competitive advantage in estimates.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations in all estimating activities.
- Facilitate post-project evaluations to improve future estimating processes and outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in audio visual estimating or similar role.
- Proven knowledge of audio visual systems, components, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
- Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specs, and engineering documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
