Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Learn and adapt to new recipes and techniques, demonstrating a willingness to expand skills and contribute to the team's success.
- Follow all food safety regulations and company policies, upholding high standards of hygiene and sanitation at all times.
- Assist with inventory management, tracking ingredient usage and notifying supervisors when supplies are low to prevent shortages.
- Receive and store incoming ingredients and supplies, organizing them efficiently to maximize space and ensure easy access.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe environment.
- Package and label baked goods, ensuring proper handling and presentation for sale or distribution, while adhering to hygiene standards.
- Monitor baking processes, adjusting temperatures and times as needed to achieve desired results and prevent burning or under-baking.
- Shape and form dough into various shapes and sizes, demonstrating precision and attention to detail to create visually appealing baked goods.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment, including ovens and mixers, following safety protocols and cleaning procedures to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist in the preparation of dough and other ingredients, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to recipes to maintain product consistency.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, showing a basic level of education.
- No prior work experience is required, indicating a beginner-friendly opportunity.
- Food handler's permit or willingness to obtain one, demonstrating a commitment to food safety.
- Basic understanding of bakery operations and baking principles, showing some prior knowledge.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team, highlighting essential soft skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards, crucial for producing baked goods.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, as the job is physically demanding.
- Effective communication skills and ability to take direction, crucial for working in a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, essential for a bakery setting.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn, demonstrating a proactive approach to the role.
