Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The role of a Billing Administrator is integral to the financial operations of any organization. They are primarily responsible for ensuring that billing processes are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner. As a Billing Administrator, you will engage closely with several departments within the organization, including finance, sales, and customer service, to create and manage invoices, track and handle billing discrepancies, and ensure that payments are collected correctly and on time. Furthermore, the role demands a strong understanding of the company s billing systems and compliance with all applicable policies and standards. A successful Billing Administrator should possess excellent numerical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under strict deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage accurate invoices for customers on a regular schedule.
- Maintain comprehensive records of billing activities and financial statements.
- Collaborate with departments to resolve any billing discrepancies effectively.
- Ensure all billing information is accurate and up to date in the system.
- Communicate billing schedules and expected payment timelines to customers.
- Process incoming payments by recording and coding them appropriately.
- Monitor aged debts and conduct routine checks for outstanding payments.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with established billing policies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to billing activities.
- Develop and implement new billing procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Provide customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving billing issues.
- Participate in month-end closing by preparing billing adjustments and corrections.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a billing or financial role.
- Proficiency in using billing software and managing accounting systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal and external parties.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
