Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Patient Navigation and Support
Acts as the primary point of contact for breast cancer patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Educates patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, side effects, and follow-up requirements.
Provides emotional support, counselling, and advocacy for patient needs.
Assists patients with medical records and communication with referring physicians.
Clinical and Direct Patient Care
Provides direct nursing care, including administering medications, monitoring vitals, and assisting in procedures.
Conducts comprehensive patient assessments to identify functional, psychosocial, and healthcare needs.
Coordination of Multidisciplinary Care
Facilitates communication and care planning among oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, radiation therapists, and other providers.
Develops and implements individualized care plans with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Allocates new patient cases to interventional radiologists and ensures appropriate tumour board presentation and follow-up actions.
Administrative and Clinical Management
Oversees scheduling of diagnostics, biopsies, surgery, and follow-up appointments.
Maintains accurate, up-to-date documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
Tracks internal and external referrals using tracker tools and monitors timely follow-ups.
Prepares monthly reports to support quality improvement and KPI tracking.
Quality Assurance and Program Development
Participates in audits, clinical trials, data collection, and continuous quality improvement projects.
Contributes to development of patient education materials and clinical guidelines.
Engages in professional development to stay current with best practices in breast care.
Communication and Liaison
Acts as liaison among the hospital, external healthcare providers, and community services.
Facilitates effective communication with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and their families.
Advocates for patient-centered care and continuity across all stages of treatment.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (minimum of three (3) years full-time course duration) or
Degree in Nursing (minimum two (2) years course duration) and Registration as a Registered Nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
For UAE nationals graduates of UAE or non-UAE universities are exempted from the experience and clinical training requirements for the applied title. (UAE nationals must submit a copy of their birth certificate and the mother’s family book).
Non-UAE national graduates from UAE universities are required to successfully complete six (6) months of clinical training post-graduation in an APS health facility (except for Registered and assistant Nurse titles).
Must hold a valid License/Registration to practice in their home country and/or country of last employment (where applicable).
Must hold a minimum of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Postgraduate degree in Nurse Management/Advanced Clinical Specialty preferred.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years of recent post-graduate experience in the related speciality.
Knowledge of and ability to render care and services based on age, appropriateness and developmental needs of patients.
Knowledge of infection control, pain management, and EMR documentation.
Knowledge of oncology or women’s health preferred.
Skills in assessment of patient and family's physical and psychological needs.
Skills in coordination and planning of care and prioritising care based on individual needs.
