Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Butcher to join our team at our dynamic and fast-paced shop. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for the preparation and cutting of meat products according to the highest quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for meat, exceptional knife skills, and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that every cut is perfect. You will be required to maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhere to food safety guidelines, and provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their selections and providing knowledgeable recommendations. Responsibilities
  • Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat preparation area at all times.
  • Provide knowledgeable customer service, offering advice on meat selection and preparation.
  • Inspect meat products for quality and freshness before preparation and sale.
  • Weigh, label, and package meat products for retail display and customer purchase.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in the workplace.
  • Inventory management, including restocking supplies and placing orders as necessary.
  • Utilize various butchery tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Receive and store meat deliveries, checking for accuracy and quality of shipments.
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill customer orders and meet store objectives.
  • Develop new meat products and recipes, keeping up with market trends.
  • Educate and train junior staff or apprentices on butchery techniques and safety practices.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Butcher or in a similar meat preparation role.
  • Exceptional knife skills with an understanding of meat cutting techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and meat inspection standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Physical stamina and the capability to lift and handle heavy meat products.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
